Pastor Joe Agius
Global Institute of Theology Malta
Dr. Joseph Agius is the Senior Pastor of the Pentecostal Holiness Churches and serves as the Director and National Representative of Global University (GU) in Malta. In this capacity, he is responsible for the administration and operation of the institution in Malta and is accountable directly to Global University, its Board of Directors, and the National Commission for Further and Higher Education (NCFHE), as the institution’s licensing authority.
Dr. Joseph Agius and his wife, Christine, were born again in 1988 and began their ministry journey by pioneering their first church in Malta in 1990. Recognising the significant need for accessible and quality Christian education on the island, they committed themselves to theological study and to promoting the importance of theological education, particularly for those serving in pastoral ministry.
Over the years, Dr. Agius and his wife have continued to develop their ministry and educational work. They also pioneered their second church in Gozo, establishing what became the first Evangelical church on the island.
Dr. Agius has dedicated much of his ministry to pastoral leadership, Christian education, theological training, and the development of Christian ministry in Malta. Through his leadership at Global University, he continues to support students and ministry leaders in pursuing structured theological education and preparation for Christian service. Joseph and Christine have been married for over 30 years and have walked together through the many seasons of life and ministry. Their years of marriage, combined with their experience in pastoral ministry and Christian leadership, give them a wealth of practical wisdom and insight to share with couples.
Their desire is to encourage and equip Christian couples to build marriages that are rooted in Christ, strengthened through love and commitment, and able to flourish through every season of life.
Dr. Joseph Agius holds a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) with a specialization in Biblical Studies and Theology.
